A few hours later we arrived at the port near Zhuhai, ignored the rain and sat down to eat. Funniest thing was the toilet just outside the restaurant window, I hope nobody ever has to use that one! The food was nothing special, but the view of the stormy sea made a great backdrop. [M33] [M33]

I was a little surprised at how poor the condition of the port was, a dirt track road to get to it and loads of wooden huts thrown up in the car park outside. After all the things people have told me about Zhuhai, I was expecting something much more modern.

But what the hell, it was functional at least….and there was just enough room inside for some of us to play football while we waited for the weather to improve.

Sorry again to He Dong for making her join in our game with an unexpected header – hope the headache didn't last too long!

It was an interesting comparison for me, so many people with so much equipment to carry, being forced to hang around, just waiting and waiting, but not one person complained.
