怎样起英文名

随着全球化进程的深化，英文名对每个人，尤其是年轻人，变得越来越重要。但是，很多人并不知道如何起一个适当的英文名，往往胡乱起名，结果产生很多问题。第一种问题是起的英文名太常见，如：Henry, Jane, John, Mary. 这就像外国人起名叫赵志伟、王小刚、陈平一样，给人牵强附会的感觉。虽然起名字并无一定之规，但给人的感觉很重要。此外，由于文化差异，有些名字引申义不雅，如：Cat, Kitty, 在英语俚语中，它们指的是女性的阴部（pussy），还有些人起的英文名实际上不是名字，如Lucky。偶尔还有人弄错了性别，如女士起名Andy, Danis（女性名应为Denise）。那么怎样起一个适当的英文名呢？这里给你几条建议：

1、英文名最好与中文名发音一致，如：

郑丽丽——Lily Zheng
杨 俊——June Yang
张艾丽——Ally Zhang
吕 萌——Moon Lu
张 波——Bob Zhang
许开云——Caron Xu
江丽霞——Lisa Jiang
王 姬——Jill Wang
赵大伟——David Zhao
张爱玲——Irene Zhang
李 斌——Ben Li

2、如第一条做不到，则争取英文名与中文名局部发音一致，如：

朱晓琳——Lynn Zhu
王冬梅——May Wang
李连杰——Jet Li
吴家珍——Jane Wu
许环山——Sam Xu
侯德健——James Hou
谢霆锋——Tim Xie

3、如上述两条均做不到，还可使英文名与中文名发音尽量接近或相关，如：

陈方宁——Fanny Chen
王素琴——Susan Wang
周建设——Jason Zhou
罗凯琳——Catherine Luo
董 岱——Diana Dong
沈茂萍——Mabel Shen
刘丽芳——Lisa Liu

总之，起英文名时要尽量与自己的中文名有联系，让人感觉这就是你。当然，实在找不到对应的英文名时也只好将就了。毕竟，起名没有一定之规。

已有调查显示，首字母越靠前成就相对越大。这和数学中Benford's law（the first-digit law）首数位法则相对吻合。不知道是不是真的。

Benford's law, also called the first-digit law, states that in lists of numbers from many real-life sources of data, the leading digit is 1 almost one-third of the time, and further, larger numbers occur as the leading digit with less and less frequency as they grow in magnitude, to the point that 9 is the leading digit less than one time in twenty.

This counter-intuitive result applies to a wide variety of figures from the natural world or of social significance - including electricity bills, street addresses, stock prices, population numbers, death rates, lengths of rivers, physical and mathematical constants, and processes described by power laws (which are very common in nature).
