标题: Adult English Corner今晚开始了！

Hi there,

I’m releasing the time frame for our English Corner, please be aware that you will have to read the article I downloaded, and write an essay before you come.

Date: 2011-5-26 (Thursday)

Time: 8:30pm

Location: Jun Ling Court C205, Jun Jing Hua Yuan

Organizer: Jacky wu (13688893430)

Time Frame

Section 1 Introduction

General introduction of the EC by Jacky wu; Self-introduction by every one

Section2 Reading

Each one will take turn to read the article and we will discuss new words and grammar, make sure everyone will completely understand the article and learn vocabulary and grammar

Section 3 Presentation on writing

Each one have to present their essay by telling us vocally (not reading the paper)

Section 4 Free talk and discussion

Please make yourself ready before you come,

Read the article I downloaded, print it out, mark the new words, search at dictionary and write down it’s meaning in English, use the word to make a new sentence, also point out some grammar issues.

Write an essay (topic given), send it to me two days in advance by mail (so that I can ask for correction), print it out and remember every word of it, so that you can present it at the EC

·
Bring in paper and pen, other relevant documents and articles.

·
Other issues should be known: Be on time, casual dress, no drinks, no food, no kids/babies, mobile silience/off.

昨天的英语聚会花了一个半小时，大家还是说得不想走。看来工作背景，年龄，和英语水平接近的人在一起是很好聊！下次要提前到8点开始才行。
第一部分的自我介绍，每个人都是抽重点把自己的情况简要介绍，尤其是工作方面的需求，让大家都有个底
第二部分的阅读，我们抽取了一篇非常有趣的文章，是一个外国教师对中国“关系”的点滴了解，从他个人角度理解“互惠”“人情债"以及中国人的一些“崇洋情结”，文笔有点尖锐，但用词很生动，有些俚语，新词较多。我们先轮流读每一段，然后再每段作精读分析，学习新词，了解语法。这不是一个人讲解，而是大家都有提出看法和INPUT.
第三部分的演讲，是大家都准备好了一篇文章，一个是介绍自己的美国朋友，一篇是介绍泰国之旅，另一篇是关于在印尼的经历。大家都作了充分的准备，表达得都流利，当然文章中总有用词不当和语法错误，大部分都被指出和修正。
第四部分的自由讨论，由于时间不足，取消。
总体上这次的聚会大家都满意，不足的地方是：1。时间不足，2，如果有一个外国人（英语母语的人）气氛就更好。
下周四的聚会，作文题目已定好：向一个外国朋友介绍一个在广州你去过的地方或景点，写成一页A4纸的内容，提前3天（周一下班前）发到我QQ：1624917254，我会找个外国教师帮忙修改；阅读的课题我也会在本周六前发到你们的QQ。

If you are visited by a foreign friend, as a host, where will you show him around? Can you please write an essay about one place in Guangzhou that you have been to? Make it a two-page article and send it to Jacky at 1624917254@qq.com before you come to class.
Hint: you can try to search information from the Internet and download some description for your essay; however you should keep your original writing for at least 50% of the essay.
